What foods are best?. I need this for my project about a Flame point Siamese cat.
My cat is 1 year old and is starting to want a lot more food is that normal? I have a Persian male cat and he keeps asking for more food I feed him in the morning then in the afternoon about half of what he normally eats than once again at 9 pm but he keeps begging for more food is that normal?
I believe that Lemon is an essential oil and I have read that essential oils are very bad for cats. Is this a good judgement call and am I correct that the oil is toxic to cats? Also, are ripe tomatoes bad for cats?. I have told my mom to stop using the Formby's.
SHOULD I SWITCH FOOD TO ONE WITHOUT PEAS? THANKS DEBBIE. I CURRENTLY USE BLUE BUFFALO WILDERNESS AND THEY RECENTLY ADDED PEAS TO THE FORMULA AND I'M CONCERNED THAT IT MAY CONSTIPATE HER, I'VE READ THAT CATS DON'T PROPERLY DIGEST ANY LEGUME.
Varsho. I give him 100% wet food, but his urine is very highly concentrated off the charts, and he has started urinating outside of his litter box again. He is 7 years old and does not drink water (even from his fountain). Is there anything I use supplement his diet to get additional fluids into his system? Thank you very much. The last time he did this was when I switched him over to wet food and that seemed to help for a while. J.
We just took in two 13 year old cats. Mouths look okay. The other did this a little, but not as much. They are hesitant to eat, which is probably normal as they are still nervous in the new environment, but one in particular is hissing and growling at his food. They will go the vet as soon as possible, but I'm looking for ideas. Not at any other time. There are a myriad of things that are possible, especially since I don't think they were cared for well in their former home.
I am using Hills Science Diet wet food but am looking for a dry now. Can you recommend a low fiber, low residue dry cat food?. My manx has been diagnosed with Mega Colon.
A bunch of it. I feel awful for not putting in the freezer right away. I strained the grease back into a container to freeze but before I was able to get it into the freezer she licked it all up. Will she be okay?. Like a 1/2 cup of it.

Will my cat be okay if she ate a little raw ground beef?
Her teeth are probably bad and I can't afford the treatment. Is there anything else I can give her maybe like in liquid form with high calories? She drinks very little cat sip and drinks water normally. I've been giving her a high calorie food that comes in a tube. I have a 16 year old Siamese cat who can't eat much anymore.
I want to know what human foods are safe for Siamese cats.
I have adopted a sick kitten. He was eating thinned(with water) recovery can food. What to do?. Now I can't get him to eat anything. Who is 2wks post op from an exploratory laporatomy and neutering.
At that time, the need for the bigger pet door also prompted us to start limiting feedings to in the morning and evening. Recently, I realized Baby's lost a lot of weight. My 4 year old cat Baby has been a pretty hefty gal for some time, even requiring a plus-sized pet door when we moved into our new home in April. Enough that I cou. In between, we started putting food bowls up, rather than leaving food down and accessible to Baby and our other younger male cat all day, as we had in the past.
She seems to really enjoy the prescription food and seems totally satisfied and full on it - before she would constantly cry for food. My 9 Month old Selkirk Rex kitten was recently treated for severe diarrhea and a slight temperature - she was advised to be fed the sensitivity diets (Hills id & Royal Canin Sensitive) and gradually wean off - we tried to wean and she went back to having diarrhea. Would it be safe for her to continue having this food for an indefinite time?.
If so, how much?
her last owner said that she feed her 9lives and walmart brand cat food the walmart brand and the 9lives but now she is not eating anything not for the last week at least. and she was about 95lbs but she was not eating the way she should have been for her size. i am trying to find out why my 2yr old wont eat and her ears are yellow w/o paying for it she has been with us for about 2mos.
.Considering the dental problems wet food can increase the occurrence of. Is wet food going to benefit my cat that much more considering the dental problems it can encourage (regardless of whether or not I give her regular dental care and cleaning)?.
I would like to try weaning him off of it anyway, but don't want to go through the crystals again. Thanks!. OTC canned food for urinary crystals Our cat has had three bouts of urinary crystals. He has been on Royal Canin SO 30 canned food for some time, but now that we have moved, none of the local vets carry it. Is there are good OTC canned food with low magnesium, high moisture? How many times a day should i feed her? At the moment we have got felix kitten as that is what the breeder told us to use, but when can I put her on dry food?. I have a new kitten and she is about 8 weeks old.
What do you think of a food like Iams maximum calorie? I think it would be good since he doesn't each much and it would be less chance of constipation with less food and more nutrients, right? I just want to make sure the higher fat or whatever else is in it doesn't make the megacolon/constipation worse. He is one that gets worse with more fiber, by the way. My cat has megacolon and doesn't each much and is thin.
Acupuncture can be very effective at stimulating appetite. Sometimes cats will drink more water if the water from a can of tuna is added to their normal water dish. It can be smeared on the inside of your cat's lips or on his gums to encourage him to eat. Conventional medicine has given us very few options to stimulate appetite in cats. There are a few natural, at home remedies that you can try. First of all, if you have not already tried, offering him palatable food outside of traditional cat food can sometimes be a helpful option. If this service is not offered by your veterinarian, you can ask for a referral to a local veterinary acupuncturist. You can try offering him tuna, meat based baby foods or any other type of food that he might find appetizing. If none of these options are working for you, complementary medicine can offer you some more options. Catnip can sometimes also stimulate cats to eat. Treatment with acupuncture can also help improve your cat's overall quality of life through his illness. There are also a couple of prescription drug options available, such as mirtazapine or cyproheptadine, that may stimulate appetite. Additionally, there is a nutritional supplement available through your veterinarian and at most pet stores called Nutri-cal. Nutri-cal is a flavored gel that is very high in calories. If you have tried this with no success, you can try giving him a B-complex vitamin from a health food store or pharmacy, or request that your veterinarian administer a B-complex injection as this will sometimes stimulate appetite.
She is generally well but is very fussy eater. Inherited my mums elderly cat about 18 years old. Give top brand of senior food, milk egg, raw steak, tinned fish, difficult sometimes as to know what to give her to eat?.
Can this also be a problem with salmon? I often cook up salmon heads and collars and use the meat (and some skin) for pet food. I have two questions - both related to supplementing my cats' food with human food. Is salmon also too high in unsat. Do I assume correctly that it is the amount of salt that can be a problem? And if so, how much is too much per meal? Also, I just read about steatitis being a problem with tuna. I keep reading how salt is bad for cats, yet their cat food has salt in it.

Am I doing the right thing?. I did change her food to a different wet one two days ago and since then she has had dribbling diarrhea and has lost a little bit of weight. Could it just be a case of the food? I have put down Purina ProPlan baby cat dry now and some powdered kitten milk from the vets. She still seems playful, but possibly a little off color. Hi, I have an eleven week old kitten who appeared very healthy when we bought her, however her stools have always been very soft.
Do you have any ideas on what could be wrong with her?. She is an outdoor cat and hunts all the time as well. My cat has an insatiable appetite and yet is very skinny. She is about 10 years old.
He is not eating or drinking so we need to know if we have other option so that we can push him to eat.

But 'd like to know of a different brand that is cheaper and available in common stores like Ralph's. I need cat food that has the same, if not very similar ingredients as the Prescription Diet food that she's currently eating.
What is this behavior? She also eats only half of what we put out. And will not eat again until I give her fresh food, is that normal? Thank you. We have rescued a kitten, this is our first cat. Our kitten is almost five months old, and she paws at the floor around her food before she eats.
My kitten has stopped eating the food she has been eating for the past 3 months! Why? When we're at my mom's house she tries to eat the adult food her cat eats, but when I bought that food and fed her back home again she's not eating it! If I give her some wet food she eats it though. I've never had a cat before this so is this a cat behavior?? What do I do?. What's going on with her? My vet said just leave her food there she'll eat it, but she isn't and I'm concerned.
She is about three years old and slightly over weight. She has caught grasshopper and mice and eaten them prior to stopping eating. My cat hasn't eaten in three days and seems to be tired. What can I do for her?.
